Gregory Scott, M.A.

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern IMH 17151

As a narrative therapist, Gregory draws on a variety of experience and expertise. After six years in the United States Navy Submarine Force, Gregory transitioned to civilian life and embarked on a career spanning more than twenty years in the Nursing and Medical Industry. Gregory worked in various roles as an allied health professional and a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiology and Electrophysiology and found great satisfaction working for giants in the industry such as Johnson & Johnson and St. Jude Medical. Regardless of his role, Gregory has always had a passion for mentoring, creative problem solving, personal/group communication, conflict resolution, and highly functional team development. In searching for new ways to express these passions in a manner that was congruent with his values and ethics, Gregory completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Counseling at Rollins College and fulfilled all the requirements of the laws and rules of the state of Florida Department of Health to become licensed as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (License No. IMH 17151).

In addition to his training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rollins College, Gregory has completed multiple trainings and workshops in Narrative Therapy which is his primary way of collaborating with individuals, couples, groups, and organizations.
The world today tells us many problem stories about ourselves and we often internalize these problem stories until the problem becomes “our problem” and then we become “the problem”. Through asking intentional questions from the position of a consultant and collaborator, Gregory encourages people to separate the problem from their self-identity and thereby create space to identify alternative stories to change their relationship with the problem and begin living in a way that expresses their values and preferred ways of being.

Gregory invites you to participate in a new type of conversation; one that explores often forgotten but preferred stories of possibilities for changing your relationship with the problems of your life. If you are interested in working with a therapist who is creative, curious, compassionate, and strives to create a non-pathologizing, judgment-free environment, call for a free phone consultation and see if Gregory is the right therapist to collaborate with as a co-author of the next chapter of your life.

Gregory has a personal interest or specialization in:

Career & Life Transitions
Professionals & Burnout
Existential Crisis/Meaning in Life
Veterans & Reintegration
