Adam Tharkur is a graduate the University of Central Florida's Counselor Education program. He has a Mental Health Counseling degree with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. Adam is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Adam is originally from San Diego, California but grew up in Miami, Florida. Adam graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Women's Studies.

Adam believes that everyone deserves an environment where they feel comfortable enough to discuss their beliefs and feelings without judgment. He applies a number of theoretical orientations such as, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems Theory in his practice to best meet his clients' individual needs. Adam attempts to build a strong therapeutic relationship using empathy and non-judgmental, goal-oriented approaches which apply personal responsibility to the client's treatment outcome.

Adam has worked for the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay for four years in their Eldernet division. He was an intake specialist and led addiction groups at Tampa Crossroads, an inpatient facility. He has a passion for Neurofeedback and how it relates to helping clients with all different concerns. Adam has presented on Neurofeedback at counseling conferences in Orlando, Tampa Bay, Germany, and Italy since becoming a graduate student.
